Article

Heavy rain and storms have affected families in the Philippines. Some government housing agencies are now giving people a temporary break from housing payments. [1]

The National Housing Authority has a one-month payment pause for covered homes in August. It includes some housing loans and lease payments. [2]

The pause is automatic for people who are covered. They do not need to apply. Payments will start again on September 1. [2]

The loan is not cancelled. People will still pay the money later. But they have one less bill to worry about during August.

After a flood, families may need money for food, cleaning, transport and repairs. Some people may also miss work.

A short payment break cannot fix everything. However, it can give families more time and money for their most urgent needs.
