Article

You can travel from Helsinki to Stockholm by overnight ferry. The trip takes about 17 hours. You leave Finland in the evening and arrive in Sweden the next morning. [1]

Tallink Silja and Viking Line both use this route. The ships also stop for a short time in Mariehamn in the Åland Islands. [2][3]

The morning can be very beautiful. Before Stockholm, the ferry travels through an archipelago with many small islands. You may see trees, rocks, houses and boats.

There is a lot to do on the ship. The ferries have restaurants, cafés, shops and entertainment. Some ships also have a spa, sauna or pool. You sleep in a private cabin. [1]

Prices change by date and cabin. Viking Line currently shows some one-way cabin prices from about €53.50. [2] A simple inside cabin is cheaper, but it has no window. Food and activities can cost extra.

The ferry is much slower than flying, but you sleep while you travel. You may also save one hotel night. If you enjoy boats, sea views and relaxed travel, the ferry can be a fun way to arrive in Stockholm.
